DELF preparation programmes

The DELF and DALF are two modern diplomas designed to assess the communicative skills of a candidate in real situations using authentic documents. They evaluate functional knowledge of communication. They are issued by the French Ministry of Education and as such, they are recognised everywhere in the world.

DELF corresponds to basic skills in French. It certifies that its holder is able to communicate in normal everyday situations.

DALF is divided into 6 units.The first 4 units, A1 to A4 constitute DELF Stage 1.

You may take A1, A2, A3 & A4 examinations separately. However, you must pass units A1 to A4 before you can sit for the 2 remaining units A5 and A6, which constitute DELF Stage 2.

If your level in French already corresponds to approximately 400 hours of French tuition or more, you can sit for a special assessment test to have access to DELF Stage 2 without sitting for the 4 units of DELF Stage 1.

Holders of DELF Stage 2 have a general knowledge of French civilization and are able to analyze a text and present it both orally and in writing.
