Course Description

This afternoon general French course focuses on the four communication skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The emphasis will be on strengthening vocabulary and conversational use of French language.

Our year-round basic language skills sessions are known as Demi-Intensive 10-hour general French courses. We offer this course as a 10-hour study group with a maximum of 12 students, providing each student with a weekly all-in-one learning opportunity.

Attend our afternoon lessons on culture and specialised skills to boost your overall French language aptitude. Follow monthly themes based on current events and trends to enhance your French conversation skills while also learning about contemporary life in France.

Learn about the different regional and cultural traditions of France while also strengthening your French language and communication abilities.

Students will acquire confidence in their ability to talk and listen in French in a variety of contexts. Current vocabulary and language, culture and history, grammatical structure study, pronunciation and listening skills, social skills, cultural awareness, reading and comprehension. Students are encouraged to put what they’ve learnt in class into practice.

Classroom activities include individual, couple, and group work, conversations, debates, roleplays, presentations, written projects, and listening exercises.

Participants are invited to share their own perspectives and experiences while forming friendships with other international students in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Unlike the intensive course, this one only meets in the afternoons and provides a thorough immersion in French history and culture, as well as the opportunity to debate current events and put newly learned language skills to use.

You will also improve your knowledge by attending our free daily optional seminars, which run from 4:15 – 5:15pm.
