毎年約2000人弱の学生が世界48か国からルーアンに訪れ、フランス語を学んでいます。 フランス語のみの環境で、その土地の人との出会い、文化に触れながら、フランス語だけでなく、ノルマンディーの伝統についても学んでもらいます。 今週はお菓子教室が開催されました。パリ・ブレストというシュークリームのようなお菓子を学ぶ教室に、10数人の学生さんが参加されました。（国籍は、日本、韓国、コロンビア、トルコなど） 日本人のアツヤさん（19）は、「僕は９月からパリの製菓学校に入るために、フレンチ・イン・ノルマンディーにフランス語を学びにきました。将来は、有名なパティシエになりたいです！」と証言してくれました。 マネージャーのマリカのインタビュー 「当校は、ウェールズ出身のエルリ・メイトランドにより1992年に創立されました。彼女の幼少時代に旅行でフランスに立ち寄った際に、故郷とのギャップに驚いたそうです。その時に大きくなったら、フランス語を学べる学校を創りたいと心に決めたそうです。 当校のコンセプトとして、フランス語学習において、一番効率的なのは、現地に滞在し、現地の人と接し、現地の空気に触れることだと考えています。ですので、当校では、課外アクティビティーとして、モン・サン・ミッシェル等のエクスカーション、本場の印象派の画家を招いて、絵画教室や、お料理教室、美術館巡りや、地域のボランティア活動に貢献したり等を提案しています。 私がこの学校に赴任したころは、１クラス数名しかいなかった学生も、現在では、年間約1700名、年齢層も16歳～82歳にものぼり、滞在期間も１週間～１年、２年とまで様々な体系で受け入れが可能となりました。料金設定も学生様の事情に合わせ選択していただくこともできます。」 ホストファミリー代表モヨン家の証言 約80％の学生は、ホームステイに入り、フランス人の家族と寝食を共にします。ニコールさんと、ピエールさんは学校のすぐ裏のお家に４部屋の寝室を貸しています。現在に至るまで４年間で約150名の学生の受け入れを行ったというご夫婦。 「最初は、退職と同時に、シャンブル・ドットを経営しようと思っていましたが、 世界中の人を受け入れ、彼らとの交流ができる、このこのホストファミリーという事業と出会い、その素晴らしさを発見して以来、離れられなくなりました。 我が家にステイした学生たちは、私の事を「フランスのお母さんと呼びます」。 ホストファミリーの素晴らしい点は、世界各国から、言語も文化も違う人々がフランス語を学び、フランス語で時を分かち合えるということです。 同性愛者の結婚を認める法律が採択された際、我が家には、イスラム教徒の学生、中国人学生、キリスト教の信心深いブラジル人が滞在していました。各自が、各自の思いを述べ、他の意見を受け入れ、そんな意見交換ができ、私は感激しました。その当時のことを今でも忘れません。」 Un cours de cuisine 100% française – le reportage d’Alexandra du Boucheron. “Etre le plus rapidement immergé” – Malika Bezzou, directrice.
